The Peacebuilders network conducted training for 25 finalists of the upcoming Mr, Miss & Mrs Universe of World Peace Beauty Pageant at Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya on 10 June.
The presentation was delivered by Peacebuilders Network Programme Coordinators, Tan Wan and Choong Wan Yee, who spoke on topics that included, Inner Beauty – Inside Out and Peace Begins with Me.
According to Choong, true beauty is not only defined by the external appearance but also the goodness within oneself. “By putting the needs of others above ourselves, we learn to live for the sake of others. Our inner beauty starts to shine when we learn to express kindness and lend a helping hand to those in need.”
Meanwhile, Tan presented several high-impact community programmes organised by the Peacebuilders Network which are aimed at enhancing character, building harmonious families, promoting community interaction and green initiatives.
The finalists were inspired by the sharing and participated actively in the session. One participant, Sammy, said her intention of joining the beauty contest was so that she could be an icon to share the beauty and kindness to people around her.
The 2-day training programme also included motivational talks, posture practice and catwalk training sessions arranged by Universe Peace Studio (UPS).
