The Mr, Miss & Mrs Universe of World Peace Beauty Pageant Grand Finals held on 19 August at Top Happiness Grand Ballroom at Seri Kembangan, Selangor concluded with resounding success. The event gathered a crowd of 300 guests and 31 finalists from 6 different countries.
UPF Malaysia supports this event conducted by Universe Peace Studio for its noble objectives of establishing a platform pageant that focuses on the beauty of human character, promoting tourism and culture as well as raising funds for peacebuilding causes.
This is in line with the vision of one of UPF’s pillars – the International Association of Arts and Culture for Peace (IAACP), which taps on the talents and capacities of artists and icons to inspire people through their creativity and visionary ideas to build a better and peaceful world.
The night of beauty and splendour was graced by the presence of Dato Seri Matthew Yeoh, Chairman of ASEAN Legal Alliance who participated in the grand opening ceremony accompanied by President of UPF Malaysia, Assistant Prof. Sudesh G. Balasubramaniam and Secretary General, Mr. Lai Peng Keong and Organising Chair, Mr Scotty Hong. Vice President, Mr. Joachim Ng was also involved as pre-judge a day before the actual beauty pageant.
Finalists from three categories of Elite, Miss and Mrs and Mr participated in four rounds of beauty contests, which are international traditional costume, best talent performance, sportswear and formal attire (men) and evening dress (women).
In addition to showcasing their appearance, creativity and confidence, all contestants were required to give a short cliched impression of world peace. Many contestants declared their commitment to become icons and inspiration for peace through their talent and work.
Another special highlight of the programme was the crowning of True Love Ambassadors, which acknowledges the sacrificial love and effort of selected individuals for their families. Four contestants were also appointed as Peace Ambassadors for 2023 in recognition and encouragement for their charitable works for the community.
